Map types
The geopictionary application offers multiple map types for different purposes. All map types display the location names in the respective national language. Tap on the Map types button in the top left corner to select your preferred map type. For the detailed description of the currently selected map type follow the link in the bottom left corner of the map view.
OSM Standard
Select the map type OSM Standard and tap on OK to apply it as your current map type.
The OpenStreetMap's Standard map type is designed as a general-purpose raster map of the entire world.
OSM Humanitarian
Select the map type OSM Humanitarian and tap on OK to apply it as your current map type.
The OpenStreetMap's Humanitarian map type is focused on resources useful for humanitarian organizations and citizens in general in emergency situations. This map type covers the entire world.
OSM Public Transport
Select the map type OSM Public Transport and tap on OK to apply it as your current map type.
The OpenStreetMap's Public Transport map type is a public transport map derived from the OpenStreetMap database which puts a special value on the representation of public transport (e.g., railways, airports, public bus lines). This map type covers the entire world.
Open Topo
Select the map type Open Topo and tap on OK to apply it as your current map type.
The Open Topographic map type focuses on the three-dimensional ups and downs of the terrain displaying the physical features (e.g., hills, valleys, rivers) of the map. This map type covers the entire world.
USGS Topographic
Select the map type USGS Topographic and tap on OK to apply it as your current map type.
The U.S. Geological Survey Topographic map type is focused on the three-dimensional ups and downs of the terrain displaying the physical features (e.g., hills, valleys, rivers) of the map. This map type is restricted to United States territories.
USGS Satellite
Select the map type USGS Satellite and tap on OK to apply it as your current map type.
The U.S. Geological Survey Satellite map type displays satellite images of the United States territories.
